Following people's desires for realism, they realised how much scratches were important in the visualization of photo-realistic scenes, they have overhauled the previous generator to offer more natural and tweakable scratches. When used with a pathtracer or raytracer, the generated normal map will produce the circular highlights which we commonly observe in the real world.
